Abstract

Data sharing, code review, open access, preprints, preregistration, registered reports, reproducibility, replicability: all these terms fall under the umbrella of the ‘open science’ movement, which aims to make science more reliable and efficient. This talk will explain where the current open science movement in ecology and evolution came from, where it has succeeded, and where it has (so far) failed. Increased openness and transparency come with costs. Are we reaping all their benefits?
