By all accounts, freshwater biodiversity is in crisis and the status quo is failing to halt populations declines or habitat loss. For this seminar I will focus on what is needed to rebuild populations and restore freshwater ecosystems for the benefit of people and nature. I include a candid assessment of the quality of evidence associated with common conservation actions and identify what scientists can do to support conservation practitioners with their important work.
